as i mentioned in my last, it has been around one hundred eight degrees the past few days, with a heat index of one hundred twenty. i have never felt heat like this, ever, in my life. living through countless swampy dc summers did not prepare me for the blistering sun and day after day of hundred percent humidity. living fifteen from the ocean is ideal, but what is the use when being outside, even in shade, for longer than ten minutes makes one feel like throwing up.

in other news, jake (kitten pictured below) is progressing well away from his psychotic episode of last week. significantly more affectionate and calm.

bought a new journal and have been copying recipes from my mother and aunt. if you've any favorites, please comment with them.

Ingredients: 2 Hotdogs, I Can of Baked Beans

Instructions: Heat pan over mediem heat for 3 minutes. Slice hotdogs into half-inch slices and place in pan untill color has darkened slightly. While doing this, add can of beans to a pot sitting over medium heat. When hotdogs are cooked to your liking, add them to the beans.

Add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy with baguette and a bottle of shiraz.
